Section 8
Health, Safety & Security
Everyone shares responsibility for a safe workplace, on site and wherever else the work happens.
8.1 Workplace Safety
Follow posted procedures, use equipment as intended, and report hazards, near misses, and injuries promptly — even minor ones.
Reporting early is what prevents a small issue from becoming an incident. No one is penalized for raising a safety concern in good faith.
8.2 Drug- and Weapon-Free Workplace
The workplace is free of weapons and of impairment from alcohol or drugs during work hours or while representing the organization.
Legally prescribed medication is fine; if it could affect your ability to work safely, talk with the People team about temporary adjustments.
8.3 Ergonomics and Wellbeing
Set up your workstation so your screen, chair, and keyboard support a neutral posture, and take short breaks during long stretches of focused work.
Ergonomic assessments and equipment can be requested through the People team, for on-site and home workspaces alike.
8.4 Emergency Procedures
Know the evacuation route and assembly point for your location, and take drills seriously. Familiarity is what makes a real evacuation orderly.
In an emergency, follow instructions from emergency responders and site leads, and check in so we can account for everyone.
8.5 Building Access and Security
Badges and access credentials are personal — do not share them or hold doors for people you do not recognize.
Visitors sign in and are accompanied while on site. Report lost credentials or anything that looks out of place right away.
