Section 3

Employment Administration

How the employment relationship is structured, from classification and scheduling through performance reviews and departure.

3.1 At-Will Employment

Unless a written agreement signed by an authorized representative states otherwise, employment is at will: either you or the organization may end the relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice.

Nothing in this handbook creates a contract or a guarantee of employment for a specific term.

3.2 Employee Classifications

Roles are classified as full-time, part-time, temporary, or contract, and as exempt or non-exempt for overtime purposes. Your offer letter states your classification.

Classification determines eligibility for benefits, paid time off accrual, and premium pay. If your schedule or duties change substantially, your classification is reviewed.

3.3 Job Postings and Internal Mobility

Open roles are posted internally so current employees can apply or refer a candidate. Selection is based on the published criteria for the role.

If you are interested in an internal move, talk with your manager early. Managers are expected to support development conversations even when a move means backfilling a role.

3.4 Working Hours and Scheduling

Standard schedules are set by department and communicated by your manager. Meal and rest breaks are provided in line with applicable law.

Non-exempt employees should record all time worked accurately, including work performed outside normal hours, and should not work off the clock.

3.5 Performance Reviews and Development

Performance is reviewed on a regular cycle, with ongoing feedback in between. Reviews cover results, how the work was done, and goals for the next period.

Where performance falls short, managers provide specific expectations, support, and a reasonable window to improve before further action is considered.

3.6 Resignation and Separation

If you resign, written notice to your manager is appreciated so we can plan a clean handover. Final pay is issued in line with applicable law.

On your last day, return equipment, credentials, and any organizational property. The People team will explain what happens to benefits coverage and retirement accounts.
